“The pleasure project” is an organization that works worldwide to strengthen the desire as a central part of the intimate lives of people, because desire is a good thing. They have just launched seven pleasure principles that can serve as a guide and inspiration towards a sex-positive, pleasure-based approach to sexual well-being.
Their basic view is based on a large number of studies, all of which show that good sex is the key to well-being, and the more good sex we have, the better we become at having safe sex. They claim that Pleasure makes sense, simply because increased knowledge about good sex is the best safeguard against bad sex experiences, and good sex contributes to one's well-being.
The seven pleasure principles are as follows
- Love yourself
- Embrace learning
- Talk sexy
- Be flexible
- Think universal
- Rights first
- Be positive

The principles are defined because research shows that there are many factors that affect one's sexual well-being. The most important message is that when one feels and is safe, sex can be really good for you. They call it "Sexy Safe Sex".
"The pleasure project" has existed since 2004, where they have worked to make sex education sexy, so that it contains desire, joy and pleasure. In Denmark, we have the organization Sex and Society, which works for the same agenda.
